We're excited to announce our next MSM platform: The podcast! We'll be releasing new episodes first as a Vlog (video interviews), but our podcast will be coming soon, so stay tuned!
In an opportunity to have a longer conversation with the People behind the stories we'd like to share the inaugural Melanin Stories Matter Podcast, featuring MSM Alumnus and Advisory Board Member Kory May!
We had the honor of Kristina being our first storyteller in our Inaugural show, Melanin Stories Matter, and she's also an Advisory Board Member! She talks freely and openly about what her ethnicity and identity mean to her in our second vlog episode.
MSM Alumnus Michael Smith is Acoma and Diné. In this episode, Mike honors us by sharing his rich knowledge about the Navajo Code Talkers of WW2—one of whom is Michael's father.
MSM Alumna and Diversity, Equality and Inclusion expert, Stephanie A. Smith and talks about race and how environment affects a person. As a biracial woman, Stefanie has toggled both Black and White cultures wrestling with not being "Black enough" or "White enough"—and finally learning that she fits in just right where she wants to be: Herself.
We're delighted to welcome back MSM Alumnus Mr. Viet Mai. Mr. Viet is a social innovation educator, and a brilliant Spoken Word artist. He joins us to talk about Diversity, Equity and Inclusion, how he uses Clubhouse to invite safe environments for open, honest discussions around DEI, and how he feels when some moderators muzzle voices. Viet also shares a powerful poem a the top of the episode!
